From my observation, each and every scandal in Hong Kong is following a similar pattern:
A. Liberal attack the hypocrisy of Pan-Moralist using real life example, immediately has the full backing of public opinion;
B. Pan-Moralist plays down the incident to minimizes its damage, avoid any public confrontation;
C. A revival of Pan-Moralism, the public has forgotten the issues which liberal raised, and the balance of power between them is thus restored.
The mentality of Hong Kong citizen, of the strange mixture of liberalism and Pan-moralist psychology without regarding their ideological incoherence, nevertheless maintained.

Take the Edison Chen’s scandal as an example for illustration,
A. Kira attack the hypocrisy of Gillian and Edison, using photos as evidence. After both of them can no longer deny the authenticity of these photos, public opinion almost completely siding with the Liberal. Both Liberal and Pan-Moralist are attacking the HK police and the involved celebrities.

B. To avoid incense the public sentiment, now even Pan-Moralist like Christian Right flagship: Society of Truth and Light seek to protect the legal right of arrested Netizen. Nobody is attacking the morality of Kira stealing photos from Edison Chen. However, the drive behind the attacking of involved celebrities is weakening. It is no longer fashionable to do so.
C. The public opinion begin to turn, newspaper has shown headlines like ‘30% of the teenage has been exposed to indecent photos’,'20% of them doesn’t reject the idea of photographing sexual act’,'Some express admiration for Edison Chen’. Surprisingly, even the Liberal front Appledaily had the title ‘Netizen released, he regret what he did. He rehabilitate’. Pan-Moralist join hands with Liberal to ask the Netizen to voluntarily remove the photos, because it inflict damage on involved female parties, as well as violating the privacy of them. Isn’t that clear now the Pan-Moralist perspective has secretly dominated the public opinion?
Tell me how wrong is the act of uploading an indecent photo into Internet, from a liberal perspective? So why does he need to regret what he did? Why does he need to rehabilitate if that is not illegal nor immoral? Thousands of explicit photos and sex stories are uploaded to the adult area everyday, should they all repent for what they did? How could the celebrities reputation be damaged if not because of their affiliation with Pan-Moralist/Christian Right? Why does now the public has forgotten the damaging effect on public moral by ‘Pan-Moralism’?
Does Hong Kong citizen ever grown up morally,logically and culturally?
